John Larison was born in Oregon in 1979. The child of National Geographic filmmakers, much of his childhood was spent in remote regions of the Pacific Rim. Before turning to writing full-time, he worked as a fly-fishing guide in Oregon's Coast Range mountains. Whiskey When We’re Dry, his fourth book and third novel, was an Indie Next Pick, a Los Angeles Times Bestseller, and was named a Best Book by O Magazine, Goodreads, Entertainment Weekly, Powell's, and others. It is currently being developed for a feature film. He lives on a small farm outside of Bellfountain, Oregon.
